چکیده
Polymeric materials were evaluated with regard to their spinnability and respective fibre diameters. A modified single spinning device was firstly used derive a novel generalised model, utilising process parameters (die diameter, throughput, stretching relevant take-up pressures) material properties (zero shear viscosity) predict the diameter of polymeric fibres on basis four different polymers. Further evaluation resulting power law dependence conducted filaments produced via conventional melt meltblown processes. Fibres pilot machines showed close agreement model equation only need adjust an easily calculable dependent factor. The outcome presented work is user-friendly high practical relevance, which can be amorphous semicrystalline fibres, independent machine sufficient accuracy for fast estimations.

Simulation of Multifilament Semicrystalline Polymer Fiber Melt-Spinning
The goal of this effort is to provide an accurate simulation of multifilament fiber melt spinning, applicable for a wide range of material and process conditions. For ease of use, the model should run on a standard laptop or desktop computer in reasonable time (one hour or less). Most melt spinning models simulate the formation of a single filament, with little or no attention given to multifil...
متن کاملFibre pulsing during melt electrospinning writing
Additive manufacturing with electrohydrodynamic direct writing is a promising approach for the production of polymeric microscale objects. In this study we investigate the stability of one such process, melt electrospinning writing, to maintain accurate placement of the deposited fibre throughout the entire print. The influence of acceleration voltage and feeding pressure on the deposited poly(...
متن کاملOptimal Control of Melt Spinning Processes
An optimal control problem for a mathematical model of a melt spinning process is considered. Newtonian and non–Newtonian models are used to describe the rheology of the polymeric material, the fiber is made of. The extrusion velocity of the polymer at the spinneret as well as the velocity and temperature of the quench air serve as control variables. A constrained optimization problem is derive...
متن کاملGrafting of Acrylamide to Low Density Polyethylene During Melt Processing
Acrylamide was grafted in low density polyethylene during melt processing in the presence of a free radical initiator using a torque rheometer in a closed system. Effects of processing time, acrylamide and benzoyl peroxide concentrations were studied. FTIR studies revealed that the degree of grafting increased by an increase in acrylamide concentration. Maximum grafting was obtained at 7 mi...

Abstract—The detection of the polymer melt state during manufacture process is regarded as an efficient way to control the molded part quality in advance. Online monitoring rheological property of polymer melt during processing procedure provides an approach to understand the melt state immediately.
